Marie-Christine Vandenberghe made Portugal her home in 2016 after retiring from a Brussels-based international organisation.
While pursuing an active professional life in Brussels, she found time to attend the Arts Academy of Brussels Region where she familiarized herself with a variety of techniques and media, including the use of watercolor, pigments and casein, as well as oil and dry pastels.
It is through the alluring Portugese landscapes replete with constantly transforming ocean views; intense blue skies; light beiges of beaches and sharp greys of coastlines; terra cottas and greens of olive and almond groves; bright oranges and yellows of citrus groves, that the painter has fallen in love and gained inspiration to entrust her interpretations on canvas.
